Is it odd ive lived midwest USA entire life but completely understand Guys speech? Seems lots of ppl struggle. To me its clear as day what he is saying. Yeah i catch an odd slang word here n there but i dont see why its so hard to get. I have harder time with spanish accents

My father told me so many things about this, his group failed to stop the tanks reaching St Valery. They tried hitting the tanks with everything they had but his squad of 19 men were captured at the coastline outside St Valery. They hid in coastal houses then destroyed the 19 bren guns when the bullets ran low. His team were not meant to be in France, they missed a plane to go to North Africa during the Phoney War stationed at the Ardennes Maginot Line with BEF1 / Camerons. He was trained on bren guns from age 16 with Staford TA.1936 to 1938 then asked to jion the Camerons in 1939 and to Stirling and.51st Highlands. The 51st were not recruits like a lot of the evacuated Dunkirk troops BEF2. They were in the army before the war. Maybe a reason why the Germans drove around them. And also they had probably become too friendly with over 8 months to fight them 😂

My father saw the same German troops pass him at the Maginet Line in the Ardennes while with the BEF1 group. BEF2 group were surrounded at Dunkirk because they landed in France later on, and were nearer the coastline already. He told me he saw the very same tanks again at St Valery. But he initially made contact with the tanks days before in the fields and villages just before St Valery using a group of bren gunners and motors hidden in the trees to try and hit the tanks. He broke up his bren gun and hid his grenades. His 19 man bren group he was in charge of were captured just outside the town on the coastline. He was asked to leave France with his group during the Phoney war, to go North Africa but they all missed the plane out of there, because they were drinking in Paris 😂 And the same group all missed the call to go Bahamas to guard a Royal 😂 He was instructed to keep it all a secret until 1998. Hevtold us in 2000 and died in 2002 aged 83

I was lucky enough to climb aboard and go through to the cockpit with my brother, and father who was based here WW2, earning 2 Mentioned in Despatches for working around the clock preparing the Lancs weaponry The weather was identical, adding to the incredible chilling ambience as you heard the sound of the rain on the thin alloy skin..
